Hot Stone Massage in Castle Rock
There's a reason hot stone massage is a favorite on cold Colorado evenings. Smooth basalt stones are heated and used both as massage tools and as warm resting points along the back, hands and legs. The warmth helps muscles soften, so the massage feels deeper without extra pressure, and the whole session becomes more relaxing.
Mark Komnick offers hot stone therapy as an enhancement at his private studio at 949 Mountain View Dr in Castle Rock. He has more than 20 years of experience blending heat with hands-on techniques.
How Hot Stone Is Offered
Hot stone is a $20 enhancement on 90-minute studio sessions. The stones need time to heat properly, and the work needs time to be done well, so it isn't offered on 60-minute or in-home appointments. A 90-minute studio session with hot stone comes to $170 ($150 + $20).
Studio sessions are booked by call or text at (813) 454-6075. Add-ons depend on preparation time, so request hot stone when you book instead of at the door.
What It Feels Like
Mark starts with your usual customized massage and works the heated stones in along the way, gliding them along the back, shoulders and legs and letting them rest in places that hold tension. Warmth is checked against your comfort throughout. Many clients pair hot stone with slower relaxation work. Others like it before deep tissue massage, because warm muscles often take firmer pressure more comfortably. Hot towels, aromatherapy and cupping are also available in the studio.
About the Studio
The studio is a dedicated, private lower-level room in Mark's home. It's quiet, professional and set up for massage, with a professional table, hot towels and calming music. It isn't a commercial spa, and many clients like it better that way.
