Cupping Massage in Castle Rock
Most massage presses into the muscle. Cupping does the opposite. Silicone or glass cups create gentle suction that lifts skin and fascia, and Mark can leave the cups in place or glide them across the tissue. Many clients describe it as a deep stretch from the inside out, and it can be especially satisfying for tight, stuck areas that regular pressure doesn't seem to reach.
Mark Komnick offers cupping as a $20 enhancement on studio massages at his private studio at 949 Mountain View Dr in Castle Rock. He has more than 20 years of experience and works cupping into a full customized massage, not as a standalone gimmick.
Who Tends to Like Cupping
Runners, cyclists and lifters with tight hamstrings, calves, quads or upper back. It pairs well with sports massage.
Desk workers whose shoulders and upper back feel locked in place
Anyone with a familiar knot that keeps coming back after deep tissue work
What to Expect
Mark starts with hands-on massage to warm the area, then adds cups where they'll help most, usually the back, shoulders or legs. Suction is adjusted to your comfort. You'll feel pulling and pressure, not sharp pain. Cupping can leave round marks for a few days. They're usually painless, but plan around them if you have a beach trip or an event coming up. Drink water afterward like you would after any massage.

Cupping Massage FAQ
Will cupping leave marks?
Often, yes. They're circular marks that usually fade within a few days to a week.
Does cupping hurt?
It shouldn't. It feels like a strong pull. Mark adjusts suction and checks in as he goes.
Can I get cupping at home?
Cupping is offered as a studio enhancement. If you're on blood thinners, have a skin condition or are pregnant, talk to your doctor first and let Mark know.
