Prenatal Massage in Castle Rock
Pregnancy changes how your body carries itself almost week by week. Your center of gravity shifts, your lower back and hips take on more load, and getting comfortable gets harder. Prenatal massage is a gentle, adapted massage for expecting mothers. Its aim is simple: help you relax, ease everyday muscle tension and give you an hour that's just for you.
Mark Komnick has more than 20 years of massage experience and includes prenatal work in his training. He offers it in your own home, where you're most comfortable, or at his private studio in Castle Rock.
When Prenatal Massage Is Offered
Mark offers prenatal massage during the second and third trimesters. Every pregnancy is different, so please check with your doctor or midwife before booking, especially if your pregnancy is considered high-risk. If your provider has given you any guidance, share it with Mark before the session.
What the Session Is Like
Comfort and positioning come first, and you have options. Most of the session is done side-lying, supported with pillows and bolsters under your head, belly, and knees. If you’d like to lie face-down, Mark has a pregnancy booster system that safely supports your belly so you can rest comfortably on your stomach for part or most of the session. Either way, you never have to lie flat without proper support.
Pressure stays moderate and soothing. Mark checks in throughout so you can tell him if you’d like more or less pressure, or if you want to switch positions. He focuses on the areas that usually work hardest during pregnancy: lower back, hips, shoulders, neck, and tired legs and feet.
You can change position, take a break, or stop for the bathroom whenever you need to.
Mobile sessions are especially popular with expecting moms. There’s no driving afterward, and you can stay put and relax. Just clear a flat 8×8-foot area—Mark brings the table, linens, oil, and the pregnancy booster.
